Lean

Lean Six Sigma

Six Sigma

Lean is a method for the elimination of waste ("Muda") and the maximization of value. Lean takes into account waste created through overburden ("Muri") and through unevenness in work loads ("Mura").  Value is any action or process that transforms the output of the product, service or information, is done right the first time, and the customer would be willing to pay for it.

Lean is focused on eliminating that which is non-value-added, and increasing what is value-added.

Maps convey information in a visual format that everyone in the enterprise can understand.  They are the very foundation of continuous process improvement and are extremely useful for identifying issues affecting cost, quality, timing, delivery, waste, rework, constraints, bottlenecks, flow, interactions, and many other issues.
